The nose gradually expands to reveal scents of red currant, red and black cherry, black raspberry, red rose, cedar, baking spices and tobacco. It is flavorful, yet firm and slightly gripping on the palate, where emerging notes of leather, cinnamon stick, clove, licorice root, pink peppercorn, ginger and vanilla join richer cherry-berry to create a sleek, lingering package. Built for service with sauced meat entrees, it should improve for two more years. 500 cases produced.
