Showcasing aromas of baked dark cherry, plum compote, mixed berries, blood orange, dry dark rose, peppercorn, Oolong tea leaf, dried rosemary and bay leaf, this wine represents its celebrated vineyard accurately. As expected, it is weighty on the palate, with notable polished yet clearly evident tannins which give way to flavors that quietly replicate the nose. The finish, if notably long, is still a bit youthfully coiled. Nevertheless, the wine will be gorgeous right now with a dark beef roast or a rich stew. It will be nearer to its mature self if allowed another two years of cellar time.
