Pilcrow 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt Veeder   

Archer & Byrd is a quintessential Mt. Veeder vineyard, situated at 1,020 feet on a south-facing slope with fractured blue shale soils that originated from ancient seabed uplifted approximately 140 million years ago. The vineyard is dry-farmed, organically cultivated, and increasingly influenced by biodynamic teas. This low-intervention approach enhances the expression of terroir, bringing forward Mt. Veeder’s hallmark aromatics of violet and iris. The restrained use of Boutes Grand Reserve barrels lends subtle lift and structure, supporting a vivid, upright mouthfeel and framing layered flavors of blue fruit, black olive, and fine herbs. The finish is long, precise, and finely detailed.
