Racy, concentrated and deftly balanced, this textbook Santa Cruz Mountain wine poises aromas of Meyer lemon, orange peel, baked apple, golden fig, white peach, golden berry and hazelnut nougat above a rich mineral undercurrent. It is firm and lean on the palate, where flavors of peach pit, lemon sorbet, baked green apple, hazelnut nougat and some chalky minerality gradually give way to a deeper core of golden fig and golden mulberry. The finish is notably long yet seems quite youthful, so don’t be surprised if it grows even more attractive over the next two years. 340 cases produced.
