NVWE Notes: Bright, forthcoming and well-focused, the nose of this spicy Cab blend offers rich scents of raspberry jam, red plum, sour red cherry, "red vines", violet, peppercorn, baking-spice and vanilla. It is both gutsier and darker in personality in the mouth, where black pepper, dried sage, bay leaf and tobacco notes add spice to flavors of black currant, black raspberry, and black fig galette. There is fine underlying grip at the finish and intriguing dried herbal accents as well. Built for dark roasts, steaks and Winter's richer entrees, it should grow smoother and deeper over the next few years.
