This generously endowed Merlot shows its fruity richness as soon as the cork is pulled. The nose is a focused mix of black raspberry, Italian Maraschino cherry, cherry pit, violet, sandalwood, dried herb and toffee scents. It is well concentrated on the palate, where rich cherry, cherry pit, red and black berry, red plum and sweet-savory spice notes rise above a subtle mineral undercurrent. The finish is focused, rich and lingering, with the tannins well suppressed. Delicious now, it should be even better next year. 4164 cases produced.
