NVWE Notes: The combination of age-worthiness and early appeal notable in the great 2016 Cabs is on display in this mouth-filling wine. The aromas are forthcoming, deeply fruity, intense and spice laden, and they fan-out as a medley of Amarena cherry jam, red currant, Cassis, blackberry, cedar, sweet tobacco, dark toffee, dry sage and laurel. On the palate the wine is plush enough to suppress substantial tannin, while an ultra supple texture nurses the flavors of cherry, red currant, toffee, tobacco and espresso bean through a delicious, lingering finish. A beautiful dinner wine already, it may prove a memorable one if allowed four or five years of cellar-time.
