NVWE Notes: Rich, focused and immediately attractive, the nose of this Chateauneuf du Pape-like bottling offers generous, gently zesty aromas of dark berries strawberry jam, dried cherry, leather, sandalwood, pink and black peppercorn and root beer bark. It is plush and forthcoming on the palate, where the texture is supple and the rich flavors are an engaging mirror of the nose. The finish shows tannins, but of high polish, so the super-satisfying character found on the mid-palate never flags in the lingering finish. This is an already delicious dinner wine that will likely improve for another year or two.
