Tercero 2013 Mourvedre
2013 Tercero Mourvedre Santa Barbara County
NVWE Notes: The nose of this Mourvedre is a coiled mix of bright red and blue fruits tied to lots of black tea and peppercorn. It is texturally rich and considerably more immediately expressive on the palate, where the flavors are a varietally pure, focused marriage of ripe dark cherry, root beer bark, licorice root, mincemeat, espresso bean, clove, peppered broth, forest earth, leather and humidor-spice. All these varied elements stay center-stage through a lingering, quietly gripping, food-worthy finish. Delicious already, it should grow considerably more so over the next twenty-four months. 150 cases produced.
