Schrader 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon To Kalon
SCHRADER CELLARS CABERNET SAUVIGNON TO KALON VINEYARD NAPA VALLEY 2005
Wine Advocate
96+ Points
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Schrader (14.7% alcohol) is a wine of great intensity, but surprisingly the most closed of these five offerings in 2005. It needs another 3-4 years of cellaring at the minimum. Blackcurrants, licorice, incense and some toast make up the restrained, but intensely aromatic personality of this wine. It is full-bodied, super-pure, and as far as structure, is probably the most austere of all the 2005s. Drink Date 2019 - 2039. Robert M. Parker, Jr. 28th Jun 2015

Unfolds to reveal tiers of mocha, blackberry, licorice and creamy oak flavors, with subtle earth and herb shadings. Pulls together nicely on the finish, ending with a long, sustained aftertaste. 2005 California Cabernet blind retrospective (September 2015). Drink now through 2024. 150 cases made.
