PRIME CABERNET SAUVIGNON COOMBSVILLE NAPA VALLEY 2016

NVWE Notes: True to both its terrific vintage and the Coombsville appellation, this is an immediately attractive Cabernet. The nose is at first shy, but with airing builds in intensity and focus, as scents of Italian Maraschino cherry, Dark cherry cobbler, plum galette, vanilla toffee and hints of mocha, laurel and tobacco create a harmonious perfume. On the palate, it has an engaging, creamy, mouth-feel that submerges the tannins to elevate a wave of dark cherry, berry, mocha and spice-cake flavors across the tongue. The finish is quite long, and the emerging tannins marry with the zesty fruit to create a near ideal food-worthiness. It will certainly reward cellaring, yet it seems almost too pleasurable already to bother. Blended with 7% Cabernet Franc, 251 cases produced.
