2013 Palazzo Semillon "Cuvee Blanc" Napa Valley
NVWE Notes: Rich and decidedly Bordeaux-esque, this wine offers aromas of golden fig, dried golden mulberry, peach pit, floral honey, straw, key lime pie, lemon marmalade, lemon grass, white pepper, nutmeg and other baking spices. It is rich if notably youthful on the palate, where citric zest, white pepper, a hint of smoke and some cutting flint-like mineral notes firm-up an otherwise tongue-coating texture. The finish is ultra long, if hard-dry, and suggestions of pineapple, fig, peach pit and orange honey are especially notable at the end. Try it with rich seafood entrees, of wait four or five years to see it's full potential. Blended with 1% Sauvignon Blanc, 400 cases produced.
