NVWE Notes: Every bit the equal of the 2016 RRV, this beauty opens with a dense, focused push of lemon sorbet, pineapple souffle, peach pit, Fuji apple sauce, vanilla wafer, honey, toast and hazelnut scents. It delivers a more evolved and expressive message on the palate, where a lush texture, piquant zest and concentrated flavors of peach, apple, pineapple core, lemon peel, lemon curd, apple skin, honey, hazelnut and vanilla line fan-out. The finish lingers nicely, but it reprises some of the youthful backwardness seen in the nose, so as terrific as it is now, it is sure to grow much more pleasurable over the next several years.
