NVWE Notes: Green and Red Zinfandels are always food-worthy and this one is no exception. The aromas are a gently racy mix of red boysenberry, cherry pit, blueberry, pink and black peppercorn, sumac berry, laurel and baking-spice scents. It is medium-bodied and seems a touch more youthfully reticent on the palate, yet grows significantly more expressive and slightly bolder as it airs. The lingering flavors are centered on red raspberry galette, red cherry and a bit of blood orange zest, tied to notes of laurel and peppered bouillon. It is a versatile dinner partner that will grow ever more appealing over the next eighteen months. 1590 cases produced.
