NVWE Notes: If still a hint youthfully reserved, the aromas of this Cabernet make a classy impression. They are a focused mix of red currant, black cherry, Santa Rosa plum jelly, mace, baking-spice, vanilla and mineral scents. Things are richer and more forthcoming, yet every bit as focused on the palate, where layers of red fruits, spice and minerality carry through a very long, palate-coating finish. The lasting memory is of a polished wave of cherry, currant, red plum, baking-spice and sweet tobacco: all these rendered fully dry by polished tannins and mineral undercurrents. This is such a terrific dinner wine already that one can forget that it will be better still two years from now. 800 cases produced.
