RITA HILLS 2014NVWE Notes: This is a ripe yet notably zesty bottling, that layers aromas of Meyer lemon sorbet, preserved lemon, pineapple core, baked apple, Crenshaw melon and allspice over a background of smoky minerality. Things prove as rich and complex as expected in the mouth, as where core flavors of lemon, white peach, baked apple, quince jam and brioche are counter-pointed by suggestions of chamomile, honeysuckle, allspice and cardamom. Despite the wines opulence, the finish is clean, dry and refreshing, so this clearly food-worthy wine will drink beautifully all by itself. 95 cases produced.
