CARRACCIOLI SPARKLING BRUT ROSE, SANTA LUCIA HIGHLANDS, MONTEREY 2014

NVWE Notes: Tightly-coiled, sharply-defined and already intense, the nose of this classically styled bubbly layers scents of white cherry, white rose, wild strawberry and honeyed nuts above a background of flinty-chalky minerality. It is richer and more immediately expressive on the palate, where the mousse is both elegant and intense, and the flavors are a richer mirror of the aromas, but with notes of red plum galette and hazelnut added-in. A gorgeous accompaniment to raw oysters or caviar now, it should age gracefully for at least four years. 400 cases produced.
