Blue Farm 2016 Chardonnay Leceroni
Wine Enthusiast - 94 Points
From a vineyard near the tiny town of Graton, this wine offers intense acidity nipping at strong layers of lemon and wet stone. The balanced palate offers weight, with a spicy finish that shows potential for aging. Virginie Boone 4/1/2019

Rich, featuring concentrated apple, tropical fruit and peach pastry flavors, supported by buoyant acidity. Very spicy midpalate, with a finish filled with buttery nuances and hints of cinnamon bark. Drink now through 2025. From California. 146 cases made. K.M.
NVWE Notes: This is a terrific Chardonnay: aromatic, sophisticated, texturally appealing and food-worthy. The nose offers creamy-rich aromas of sweet baked apple, white peach tart, lemon curd, white rose, baking-spice, hazelnut nougat and a hint of toasted coconut. There is a lovely textural contrast in the mouth, where lively fruit acidity brings elegance to very opulent, lingering fruit. The finishing flavors are a medley of spiced apple, lemon tart, hazelnut butter cream and white pepper above a hint of chalky minerality. If already well-evolved and food-worthy, it is certain to be more so in a another year or two. 250 cases made.
