It combines full and captivating aromatics with a delicate texture that defines the Balletto style of Pinot Noir. The wine opens with savory and spicy potpourri aromatics that are followed with seductive dark fruits. There’s a lot of aromatic complexity, and the wine is ever changing with time in the glass. Its medium weight is nicely enhanced with notable tannins and acidity that keep it focused, balanced and taut. The overall impact is complex, impressive and delicious. This Pinot Noir was grown on seven different vineyards. The sites range from quiet rolling hills to steep and cold hillside plantings. This diverse combination adds distinct elements from each site and creates a complex wine with structure and grace.
NVWE Notes: Bright and appealingly rich, the nose of this clearly Russian River bottling poises scents of pomegranate, red raspberry, whortleberry, pink rose and pink peppercorn above undercurrents of sandalwood, baking-spice and dried rosemary. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied and soft-edged, yet delivers forthcoming flavors that accurately carry the promised aromatic package toward a lingering, supple finish. Things end on a note of genteel harmony which suggests good service with a variety of cuisines. 17,300 cases produced.
