The aromas of this beauty display slightly exotic Mendocino Ridge terroir elements, yet focused, energetic fruit dominates from the start. The nose is a harmonious mix of dark cherry galette, cherry pit, dry cranberry, dry dark rose, orange peel tea, beet, pine needle, licorice root and pu erh tea scents of impressive intensity. Fruit flavors of strawberry, cranberry, rose hip and dry Michigan cherry dominate notes of licorice root, sandalwood, nutmeg, dried orange peel, pu-ehr tea and forest-floor spice on the palate, to create a complex, distinctive, slightly piquant and very long lingering impression. Already a fascinating dinner wine, it should further evolve over the next two years. 70 cases produced.
