This impressively rich, notably youthful wine is focused and zesty yet is otherwise a bit of a heavyweight. The nose offers bright scents of sweet red cherry, black cherry, Creme de Cassis and pomegranate with undercurrents of sweet vanilla, tobacco leaf and forest floor spice. On the mid-palate polished tannins team with vibrant fruit to temper the wine’s rich black cherry, black raspberry, cassis, cedar, clove, tobacco leaf, baking spice and star anise flavors. The finish is vibrant and lingering. This wine, best served now with Prime Rib and the like, is five years from full harmony. 293 cases produced.
