Bright, rich and packed with berries and spice, this wine well represents its gutsy vintage. The nose fans out scents of blueberry jam, black currant, mulberry, clove, cedar, leather, sandalwood, peppery bouillon and graphite. There is impressive grip on the palate and the tannins join with the vivid fruit to create a distinctive, and tongue coating texture. The flavors center on dark sour cherry, black currant, blueberry and mulberry, which gain support from each of the promised sweet and savory aromatic notes, along with suggestions of toasted rosemary and dry sage. The finish is long, its intensity never falters, and the whole package seems perfect for service with steaks and fatty beef roasts. A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Leonardini and Millennium MM vineyards and 4% Petite Verdot from the Fawn Park vineyard. 2564 6-packs made.
