2018 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

NVWE Notes: Bright, fruit-forward, fresh and notably complex, this young Cabernet already delivers. The nose offers blueberry, black raspberry, dark boysenberry, dark cherry and violet fruit notes which sail above sweet-savory scents that include baking-spice, vanilla, coffee toffee, cedar, mace and suggestions of forest earth, dry red rose and laurel. These distinctive elements find a deep harmony on the palate, while the somewhat creamy texture grows grander in scale due to a backbone of finely polished tannin. The finish is both very long and beautifully food-balanced. Already quite delicious despite a zesty, youthful  first impression, it will grow steadily in appeal over the next three years and give pleasure for years after that. It is one of this winery's finest efforts.
