Leaning as much toward Burgundy as California, this is an elegant Pinot built for food service. The aromas are restrained yet focused, with red plum, red raspberry, boysenberry, pink rose and pink peppercorn rising above background notes of orange peel, hazelnut and some drying minerality. It is attractively streamlined on the palate, where mineral undercurrents team with polished tannins and quietly piquant red fruit to create a firm mouth-feel. The finish is notably youthful and the lasting flavor impression is of red plum and boysenberry, pink rose, orange peel tea and hazelnut husk. 216 cases produced.
