This is a fabulous Chardonnay from a celebrated vineyard. The aromas are a creamy-rich yet zesty layering of baked green apple, grapefruit pith, white peach, Meyer lemon, vanilla cream and hazelnut, which hover above a background of chalk and flint. The citric notes bring piquant zest to the palate, where the mineral expressions join in to counterpoint the wine’s luxurious texture and project a medley of green apple, lemon, grapefruit and orange onto center stage. The finish is notably youthful, yet long and quite expressive. This already lovely wine will grow ever more appealing over the next eighteen to twenty-four months. 100 cases produced.
