It is attractively gripping on the palate, with fine structure to uplift coiled flavors of cherry, red currant, violet, licorice root, sage, bay leaf and graphite. This flavor medley fans out in fine focus and carries through a gutsy, lingering finish. Designed for service with dark fatty meats and the like, it is destined to improve steadily over the next four years and possibly beyond. 800 cases produced.
