This is a weighty, grand-scale Cabernet with loads of fruit, oaky spice, tannin and background minerality. The aromas are a densely-packed medley of black raspberry, dark sour cherry, blackberry, violet, cedar and baking spice layered above dusty mineral undercurrents. It is as big and youthfully tight on the palate as expected, with plenty of tannic structure below brooding layers of cherry, cassis and black currant, along with violet and spice cake highlights. Very long and bold to the very end, it promises eight to ten years of evolution with a great bottle at the end.
