If tight and a bit heady at opening, a bit of airing really transforms this wine to reveal a tasty and varietally on-target personality. Scents of red plum, boysenberry and dried dark cherry dominate the nose, while peppercorn notes joins these at center stage on the palate, this whole poised above gently piquant red fruit. Firming tension adds a further attraction in the mouth and this carries through a lingering finish where brighter cranberry flavors shine through. Built for food service, it is ready for dinner service, especially if decanted.  This one should grow even more appealing over the next eighteen months.
