Notably Oakville-esque in its aromatic and flavor expressions, this clearly cellar-worthy Cab delivers scents of sour red cherry, red currant, red plum and violet harmoniously poised above strong mineral strains and notes of sweet tobacco, mace and cedar. It shows its youth on the mid-palate, where minerality and tannin join fruit zest to create a structured, focused mouth feel to underline the red currant and cherry flavors. The finish is lingering and the balance food-worthy, so the wine will be tasty now with fatty roasts, steaks and the like. Those with the patience to cellar this beauty for another four years or so will see a substantially more elevated wine. 1300 cases produced.

The current-release 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon shows more cherries and bay leaf on the nose than prior vintages. There's still a solid framework of cedar, loam and cassis, hints of mocha and licorice, but there's also a bit more freshness and lift.
