Genteel, creamy-rich, fresh and attractively spicy, this forthcoming Chardonnay centers on scents of sweet golden apple and baked green apple, with emerging undercurrents of golden berry, peach, vanilla cream pie and nutmeg. There is a slightly fleshy impression on the palate, where hints of dried pineapple, golden raisin, nutmeg and coriander seed join the pretty fruit notes expressed in the nose. The generous finish lingers nicely and the wine is already food worthy. Another twelve months of cellar time will bring on a bit of extra richness and drama.
