The most satisfyingly ripe Carneros Cabernet in recent memory, this wine is a big success. The aromas are a juicy, focused combination of sweet dark plum, dark boysenberry, blackberry, violet, vanilla pipe tobacco and forest earth scents. Richness and zest are keenly balanced on the palate, where plum, dark berry, baking-spice, clove and tobacconist shop spice flavors hold center-stage. The lingering finish is vibrantly youthful, appropriately tannic and reveals no rough edges to impede immediate food-service.  It should keep this balance while growing mellower over the next several years. 5210 Cases produced.
