If once almost ubiquitous in California, French Colombard is now rarely seen. The grape’s finest expressions have always been from old vines and this wine is one. The nose is brightly focused and delivers aromas of apricot pit, fresh green apple skin, honeydew melon, key lime and preserved lemon above mineral undercurrents. It is more intense on the palate where flavors of pear skin, fresh apricot, apricot pit, apple core, candied lemon and sharp edged minerality accent a deeper core of Sharlyn melon fruit. The finish is piquantly fruity, delightfully long, dinner balanced and the wine is ready to enjoy. From 75 year old vines, 75 cases produced.
