A great wine in the making, this focused beauty is a brilliant representation of its vintage and of new winemaker Benoit Touquette’s handiwork. The nose is a racy, firm, precise medley of concentrated red cherry and red currant fruit, with notes of cinnamon, baking spice, toasted cedar and a rich core of Oakville minerality. The fruit is almost sweetly rich on the palate, while the classy savory accents stay on point and the mineral strain joins with a deep spine of tannin to make the otherwise graceful fruit, youthfully gutsy. The finish is extremely long and shows the traditional TR polish, so the wine can be expected to gain in both scale and harmony for many years. It should age along the lines of their wonderful 2013, which has become absolutely captivating.
