Growing ever more distinctive with airing, this fine mountain Cab offers a nose of dark cherry, black currant, toasted cedar, laurel and other intriguing dried herbal hints, all this poised above a backdrop of graphite and forest floor scents. Black currant and dark cherry dominate on the palate, where sour red cherry, laurel and other savory flavors find a worthy harmony. The finish lingers well, and although the tannins are not insubstantial, the wine is intrinsically supple, and is already dinner worthy. Expect at least another two or three years of steady growth.
