Stewart 2018 Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain
2018 Stewart Chardonnay Sonoma Mountain
San Francisco Wine Panel Score: 93+ Points
NVWE Notes: Rich, polished and focused on ripe Sonoma Mountain fruit and its attendant minerality, this generous Chardonnay opens with scents of white peach tart, baked green apple, toasted meringue and hazelnut above subtler notes of passion fruit and preserved lemon. It is even more forthcoming on the palate, where the texture is creamy and flavors of peach, apple, honey-drenched nuts, toasted meringue and a hint of kumquat marmalade are all notable. Zest and drying minerality hold prominence in the lingering finish where the lime, orange and mineral counterpoints expand the wines food service potential significantly. Worth a grand entree draped with a fancy sauce, it is deliciously satisfying already. Fruit sourced from the Farina vineyard, 1047 cases made.
