This is a delightfully forthcoming, fresh, focused and already elegant bottling in the winery's textbook style. The nose is a bright medley of gooseberry, honeydew melon and lemon grass scents, poised above a background of slightly smoky minerality. It proves as tongue-coating as it is  bright on the mid-palate, where the gooseberry, melon and lemon grass flavors are layered by notes of peach pit, lemon peel, white pepper and flinty minerality. Extremely long and fully satisfying all by itself, it will be a happy companion to a myriad of fish or fowl entrees: grilled, sauced, or otherwise prepared.
