Spottswoode Sauvignon Blancs are always both fresh and complex yet the 2021 is exceptionally rich as well. The aromas are a forthcoming, rather creamy melange of gooseberry, honeydew melon, guava, grapefruit pith and lemon curd with some smoky mineral underpinnings. It is as plush as expected on the palate where zest and richness are harmonious counterpoints and the flavors of honeydew, gooseberry, fig, lemon grass, grapefruit pith, key lime and preserved lemon dominate through an extremely long, mouthwatering finish. It is wonderful already and should stay that way for several more years. 4000 cases made.
