Rich, complex, impressively balanced and clearly youthful, this beauty opens with coiled aromas of lemon cream pie, baked green apple, white peach tart, and hazelnut meringue poised above a flint-like mineral undercurrent. On the palate zest and minerality temper an otherwise plush mouth-feel yet neither blunt nor blur the wines forthright, lingering flavors of apple, peach, lemon cream, lemon sorbet, pineapple core, apple core, maroon glace and hazelnut nougat. As fine as it is today, this wine might deliver another few years of serious improvement if given the cellar time. 445 cases made.
