This knockout young Chardonnay transforms after a vibrantly fruit-centric opening into a complex, more graceful and clearly age-worthy bottling as it airs. The aromas open as a focused medley of lemon, pineapple core and bright apple scents, then gradually the wine layers-in richer notes of white peach, honeysuckle and baking spice, this all rising above a drying undercurrent of saline minerality. Once again vibrantly bright, crunchy apple and lemon sorbet flavors take center-stage on the palate, with all the other promised aromatic elements falling in line as the wines airs. The finish is ultra-long, with sparkling fruit focus that brings cutting-dry refreshment. This beauty is destined to be grow ever more brilliant over the next two years or more, but will be a terrific counterpoint to a myriad of fish and fowl entrees right now.
