Forthcoming, well focused and clearly Howell Mountain in aromatic personality, this Cab offers forthcoming aromas of cassis, black currant, dark cherry, toasted cedar, clove, vanilla and licorice root in a rich harmony uplifted by lots of creamy oak. All these elements prove as generous on the palate, although there is tannin as counterpoint in the lingering, clearly age-worthy finish. Delicious now, especially with food, and moderate aeration. It should improve for another several years at least. 125 cases produced.
