By any definition, a pleasure to drink, this lovely, focused and intensely concentrated wine offers super-rich aromas of bottled Amerena cherries, dried cranberries, dates, figs, panettone, licorice root, mocha and espresso beans, along with hints of hibiscus and rose petal. It is vibrantly bright, yet enormously rich on the palate, with every taste seeming to be a coiled mirror of what the nose promised. Notes of toasted grain and chocolate-covered orange add to the drama in the exceptionally long finish. If wonderful now, it should become ever grander over the next five years.
