The Fiddlesticks vineyard always produces an elegant wine, yet they rarely reach this level of richness. The aromas are a focused, charming, well evolved mix of red cherry, grenadine, strawberry, licorice, raspberry and blueberry scents that rise above others of orange, nutmeg, star anise and baking spice. It is rich, supple and impressively deep on the palate, where polished tannins and a mineral undercurrent counterpoint flavors of sweet cherry, wild strawberry, grenadine, raspberry, blueberry, nutmeg and a suggestion of “cinnamon red hots” candy. The finish is ultra long and never less than classy. The wine is nearing its full maturity and it should provide great drinking over the next three to five years. 150 cases made.
