NVWE Notes: This fully aged Syrah is a spice-packed, fruit-focused and dinner-worthy treat. The bouquet is a hearty perfume of black raspberry, sour dark cherry, pomegranate molasses, bouillon, beef jerky, smoked bacon, toasted rosemary, bay leaf and pink and black peppercorn. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied, palate-coating, sleek, yet still quite gutsy, although time has brought suppleness. The flavors are a fruity-peppery, long-lasting replica of the aromas, with a note of toasted raisin bread hovering in the background. It should prove a superb companion to grilled steaks, roasted lamb and the like. 250 cases produced.
