This terrific wine - and its elevated price - signal a return to Mondavi’s standards of old. The aromas are rich, ripe, focused and sweel-natured, with creamy oak that caresses flavors of red cherry, red currant, sweet red plum, baking spice and tobacco leaf. Sweet cherry, red currant, grenadine, cinnamon, baking spice, toasted cedar and star anise take center-stage on the palate and through a lingering finish where polished tannins and zesty fruit find a lovely harmony. Although delicious now, it will be more so in another two year
