Deep, concentrated and distinctive, the nose of this fine bottling betrays its virtuous fruit sources in its aromas of sour red cherry, boysenberry, red raspberry, pomegranate, cranberry sauce, pink peppercorn, tobacco leaf, Oolong tea and crushed rock underpinnings. There are textural contrasts on the palate, where dark savory spice, bright zest, juicy ripe fruit and earthy undercurrents vie for center stage. The finish is generous and lingering and notes of cherry pit and orange zest counterpoint others of tobacco and sandalwood at the end. It will be delicious now with fatty meats and certainly should improve for two yerars or more. 1680 cases produced.
