Elegant and slightly floral, the nose of this classy Pinot offers gradually emerging aromas of pink rose and violet poised above a deeper core of red plum, lingonberry, Bing cherry, pink peppercorn, tobacco leaf, baking spice and mace. The peppercorn and baking spice notes are more prominent on the palate, and these join with hazelnut, mace and some firming tannins to push back the coiled red fruits. The flavors may be a bit youthfully coiled, but they are very long, and airing brings them closer to center stage. Best to serve this wine now with duck or fatty roasts, as it may take three to five years to fully reveal all the flavor and elegance it has to offer. 625 cases produced.
