NVWE Notes: Darkly aromatic, this complex 2012 Bordeaux blend offers scents of rich forest earth, dark pipe tobacco, mahogany and dry red rose in support of tart red cherry, dark plum and cherry brandy fruit notes. Despite its age it still delivers attractive piquancy on the palate to keep the flavors of red currant, red plum, bottled red cherry, mulling spice and tobacco leaf food worthy. The finish lingers with notes of sour red cherry, red currant and a laurel at center stage. It is ready to enjoy and should look its best with sauced or fatty meats.
