2019 Read Holland Pinot Noir “Deep End”, Anderson Valley
San Francisco Wine Panel Score 94 Points
Sweetly ripe, focused and very expressive in aroma, this wine offers scents of sweet dark cherry, boysenberry, black raspberry, licorice root, baking spice and hazelnut nougat. It is plump and forthcoming in the mouth, with black cherry, plum galette, baking spice, star anise and pretty savory nuances all carrying through a generous and lingering finish where impressions of elegance, suppleness and zest stay well in the forefront. It is delicious now and will certainly be better still in eighteen months. From the moment the cork is pulled, this charming Pinot Noir, perfect for a service with a myriad of dinner entrees, proves that the whole is sometimes even better than the sum of the parts. 250 cases produced.
