2017 Radio Coteaux Chardonnay Savoy Vineyard Anderson Valley, Mendocino
NVWE Notes: Elegant, slightly creamy and impressively balanced, the aromas of this fine Chardonnay fan-out as a medley of lemon curd, Fuji apple, applesauce, pineapple core, nutmeg, baking-spice and mineral scents. It proves as bright yet is dryer seeming than expected on the palate, where the mouth-feel is rich and the finish is notably long. The flavors replicate the nose, but with a focused burst of lemon sorbet and apple galette at the end. If ready to handle rich sauces, this wine will serve as well with a wide variety of foods and it should get better for another year or two. 300 cases produced

The 2017 Chardonnay Savoy is rich, dense and super-expressive. Lemon confit, sweet spice and tropical overtones give the 2017 a bit more body, resonance and raciness than is often the case.
