This Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, Syrah and Charbono blend is plump and forthcoming to the nose, where jammy scents of boysenberry, red plum jelly, pomegranate syrup and violet are counterpointed by a rich strain of cracked black pepper. Things are both very ripe and surprisingly zesty on the palate, where tannin and peppery notes firm up the wave of fruit and bring a more food worthy balance to a wine of otherwise heavy body. It is ready to enjoy.
